Russia unveils monument honoring Andropov - Protesters Against KGB Leader’s Monument Detained
As Soviet leader, Andropov launched an anti-corruption crusade along with a massive effort to discipline increasingly inefficient and apathetic Soviet officials and industries. His campaign included street sweeps by police to catch people who failed to show up for work.

Hollywood sues maker of anti-smut DVD
Members of the Director’s Guild of America (DGA) are suing a company that has developed a DVD player that skips seamlessly over a movie’s objectionable contents
I'm for copyrights, but that shouldn't give those directors a right to demand how I view art that I rent or buy from them.

Christian wins case against AT&T
In 2001 Buonanno, who had been with the company nearly two years, objected to the language of a directive in its new employee handbook. It required all workers to "fully recognize, respect and value the differences among all of us," including differences in sexual orientation.
Buonanno said he was willing to pledge not to discriminate against or harass anyone, but he felt that he could not in good conscience sign the "certificate of understanding" agreeing with the new policy. As a result, he was fired, and subsequently sued
Where's are all of those free-speech advocates (insert cricket sound)

Disguised gunmen try to free terror leader [Saudi Arabia]
Three al-Qaeda militants dressed as women have staged an audacious attempt to free the wounded ringleader of the killing spree in al-Khobar from the top security hospital in Saudi Arabia where he is under police guard.....
An Asian businessmen who was visiting the hospital said: “The guards don’t bother to check women even though there have been several incidents in recent weeks where terrorists have worn abayas. Security staff simply don’t challenge or search women but this will have to change.”
If it changes, it weakens Wahabbism.

Inside Ronald Reagan A Reason Interview (Conservative Vs Libertarian)
REAGAN: If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism.
Great interview from 1975. Reagan's main significance to me is that he represents the turning point of when Republicans solidified their role as the true champions of human rights and freedom.
