That last post was from me, Rich. I'm still learning the group blog dynamic.
For any of you that may not know, I host a radio show every Saturday night (Sunday morning) from 1-5am on 90.1 FM KKFI in Kansas City (no internet streaming yet, but it'll be linked here first!)
This past weekend, I had two African-American callers separately praise the murdering dictator, Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe. I've seen numerous stories about his torture and killing of black people that supported the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) party.
One called him a "saint", and the other said that the black people in the MDC were really tools of ex-Colonizer Britain, and were more like house slaves (the slur hurled at all black people in this country that aren't liberal.)
The implication that I called him out on was clear; since they supported the same party that white people did, they deserved to be tortured and killed by Mugabe. There's obviously no way that the MDC could think that Mugabe wasn't a good leader just because people are starving now, they must be tools of the white man.
Anyhoo, where I'm going with this is... I'm going to be looking for, and posting articles all week on Mugabe's atrocities to have a record of them in one place so that when I have a wi-fi laptop, I can have these stories handy if the subject comes up again. It came up right at the end of the show last week, so I plan to start with it this coming week, barring some huge news.
Allison, the story about Dean turning Green will still be coming too. (I think people will like seeing this type of private conversation between bloggers (like that (and that (and that )))). Ok, I'll stop now. Blogging is fun!
